Homework::Homework in first grade is meant to be a reinforcement of the ideas and concepts learned in school.
The First Grade Team does not want you to teach your child new concepts at night, but rather allow them to practice and become "experts" at what they have already learned. We really appreciate your support! MATH HW: Math homework will be extra practice from our new GO MATH program. More information to come soon! SIGHT WORD PRACTICE Practice each trimester’s sight words for 5 minutes each night. You can find these words on the monthly homework log and on my website under the "Sight Words" link. They are listed by week READING PRACTICE *Reading Homework-Students should read for a minimum of 10 minutes per night for the first few weeks of the school year. I will notify you when our time has increased to 20 minutes. If your child would like to keep track of the minutes they are reading each night, feel free to print the Reading Stamina Graph by clicking on the button below. This is not mandatory but it is a good way to help your child see that they CAN read for more than 5 minutes! https://www.kidsa-z.com/main/Login |
